Kevin Cameron lives and works in Australia, but has travelled all over the world conducting bands, orchestras, and choirs. He has now published his first book – Fifty Flecks of Gold: Life Lessons for Those Who Lead.
This is a very valuable little book. It is not a self-help book or a system to make you wealthy – but it does have the potential to change you for the better, and to make your life rich. This is the book that I wish someone had been able to give to me when I was starting out. What a blessing it would have been! said Kevin.
In Fifty Flecks of Gold, Kevin shares the most valuable and significant lessons about life and leadership that he has gathered over a long and successful career working through a lens of music, education and leadership now approaching 35 years of active involvement in working with people. This book outlines and reflects on the concepts and principles relating to the effective leadership of people and organisations and the successful management of high-performing teams, where the nurture and development of relationships are critical to success.
This is really the book that I wish I had when I first started out in music, education, and leadership – but the content is applicable for any field or profession. It would be excellent Christmas gift or summer holiday reading for anyone who is leading – or aspiring to lead – high performance teams, or a gift for the young folks in your networks who may be in the early stages of careers.’ said Kevin.
Dr Cameron works as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician throughout Australia. He has served as President of the National Band Council of Australia, the South Australian Band Association, and the Victorian Bands’ League. Dr Cameron is a passionate advocate for conductor development and training and is Director of Performing Arts at Gippsland Grammar and the Music Director of the City of Traralgon Band.
